Aunt-icipation

Well if any of you have read pretty much any of my blog at all, you know how excited I am about my soon to be born little niece… Well I AM EXCITED!  SUPER EXCITED!

And going to visit my sister and seeing all of her preparations for the little one isn’t helping calm me down one bit! She sure has a great sense of decor’, huh!

This was my first glimpse of the little one’s nursery:

Knowing my sister, I knew the nursery would be adorable, but… that… is ….just…. sick…. adorable. Sheesh.  Pretty much everything in there, she bought at thrift stores and refinished & recovered or made herself on a very teensy budget.

The buggy / diaper holder : A fabulous craigslist find. Make sure you take note of all those empty photo frames she has for me to fill.  🙂  Somehow, I don’t think it will be difficult.

So then we come to the real purpose of my visit… the baby shower. Amberly’s friends from Anchorage threw her a lovely little baby shower brunch, and I got to go. For some reason they thought I might like to go shopping for the new baby.

Pretty sure that the first and last photo in this collage should be in Wikipedia under “Baby Shower”.

(If you happen to be a friend of Amberly and are worried that you missed out on her shower… don’t be… There is another one planned for her Mat-Su friends in May. Only for THAT one we get to snuggle a sweet little baby girl…. *happy dance*)

After all the guests left, we did a little mini maternity session (a.k.a. Heather’s play time with live dolls):

At some point during this process, there were a few jokes that had something to do with “barefoot” and “pregnant” haha.
undefined I said “what if we ….” and they said, “OH PERFECT!”  and “We do that ALL the time!”  It sure made a fun little series:
