Dreier {the wedding}

Kairi and Eric Dreier

December 28, 2013

Bay Shore Clubhouse

Kairi’s wedding morning dawned with cold crisp air… and as I drove to her childhood home for her bridal prep, I was just about giddy about the frost on the trees and the fresh snow.

Beautiful shoes!

Because she was at her home.. Kairi had her special pup (Gremmel) to keep her company during the prep.

And another sweet thing about getting ready at Kairi’s home is all the meaningful things pointing to her life lived with love.  The cradle was made for Kairi by her father who passed away a few years ago… and it is sweet to think of the time and love he put into it for her.   Her dad’s photo was on the mantle that he made for their fireplace…  And there were things everywhere that spoke to his special place in the family’s memory.

All set! 🙂 Isn’t she stunning against the backdrop of the white frosty trees!?

After a quick trip to the Bay Shore clubhouse, we met up with Eric for his prep and groom’s photos.

Looking great!

Kairi and Eric decided to do a first glimpse. So we blindfolded Eric and had him led to Kairi.

Eric’s first question: “Can I touch her?”

Yes.

There are so many beautiful photos from this wedding but THIS is my favorite:

We drove a couple blocks to a park where we could see the mountains in the distance for a few photos of the Bride and Groom.

These girls are amazing! It was sooo cold.. but they looked gorgeous anyhow!

They look so elegant…

…and a little silly

I love how Eric included his step sister as a lady groomsmen.

And we got smart and did the ladies’ photos indoors…

Remember Tori and Tim from their wedding earlier this summer? We had such a great time together, their sister (Kairi) asked me to photograph her wedding! 🙂

The ceremony was dinner theater style… and I Do Events was in charge of the decor.  It was STUNNING!

Eric watches his bride come down the aisle…

The Courthouse was CLOSED when they went to pick up their marriage license the day before… so… we went ahead and pretended to sign on scrap paper! It turned out really cute… and is going to be a really fun story to remember!

First dance was EPIC! Sometimes I wish I did video as well.

Two Fat Guys did the catering… and it was yummy yummy! 🙂

By then it was pitch black outside, so we snuck away from the reception to make a few sparkler photos. It is super hard to hold still for 20 seconds in below zero temps! They did amazing!

Check out these adorable little birdie cake toppers! So cute!

I love the idea of using upside down goblets for individual cupcake stands! Brilliant job I-Do Events!!

Oh yes they did!

I love how Martin from Alaska Professional Entertainment keeps the receptions so fun!

There were supposed to be sparklers… but as happens so many times at weddings, they were lit as a bundle and all burned up in one exciting moment that would have made firefighter’s flinch!  There was just one left… The guests improvised by making a tunnel with their arms to welcome the couple into their new life.

Congratulations Eric and Kairi!
The rest of the photos from this gorgeous event will be uploaded during the night tonight… so stay tuned! 🙂
