Hinchman {Wedding}

Shawna &  Cody Hinchman

July 30, 2011

I always have to laugh at myself, because after almost every single wedding, I feel like it was the best one I have ever shot…. or attended!  To my delight, I do get to work with a lot of really great couples. But Shawna and Cody… they really rise to the top… in sweetness… in living intentionally and planning ahead.  I really enjoyed their unique and rustic wedding quite a bit.

Shawna did a whole lot of planning and preparation for this event. From designing the invitations… to planning every single minute detail down to the “t”.  It was very thoughtfully done. And you never would have known she did all that, since the day of, she was so peaceful and let everything go and just enjoyed her day.  You might remember Shawna from her bridals I did a couple of months ago. She sure is gorgeous, which made this a wedding to look forward to even more! 🙂

Shawna wore boots and the mermaid gown for the reception, and the heels and princess gown for the ceremony! I love it! 🙂

Bling shot by Michael! 🙂

We quickly went over to Raven Glacier lodge to get a few shots of the guys getting ready and some portraits of Cody.

This was sooo cute of all the guys getting a lesson on how to tie a tie.

Coolest cufflinks ever!

And these were the boutonnieres!

And then we went to Our Lady of the Snows for the last few family photos and last minute bridal prep:

Cody’s family is sooo cute! 🙂

I was doing a couple formals for Shawna and her parents, when…..
….all of a sudden we spotted Cody in the distance. Michael had to capture a shot of me in my brilliance. 🙂  Soo funny!
Gorgeous, Shawna!!

Love this shot of Shawna’s mom looking at her through the window:

Shawna was unique in that even though she did her own wedding planning and prep, she created tons of brilliant little details that were so unique and followed the theme of her wedding! She was amazing! No wedding planner could have done it better! Her preparations really shone through the day.

Check this out: Shawna had the adorable ring bearer carry the rings on a lantern! So creative and fun!

Cody made the awesome arbor… it even has their names carved into one of the logs!

We traveled by Limo to the Tram and rode up to the top of the mountain.

Neil with 303 Motion was the videographer for the event… and he did a great job! we really enjoyed working along side him.

Raven Glacier Lodge is one of my very favorite reception venues! 🙂 It is so fun and unique and the food is always amazing!

Instead of a guest book, all the guests wrote on a  postcard and put it in the mailbox.  What a great idea! 🙂

Have I mentioned how great the food at Raven Glacier lodge is? She’ll cook up anything, and make it taste yummy… a few of the things I remember on the menu: Fresh halibut stuffed with asparagus… home made croissants… moose meatballs (which if you shorten it  it sounds great… haha!)….  Home made bread… seafood chowder… chinese noodles…. fruit salad… pulled bbq buffalo.. and I can’t remember what else. It was a feast!

Buck Ford and the Pure Country Band  was the backdrop for the reception! They were good! Real good! Buck’s voice had a real nice twang to it as he sang all the old country favorites.

Gotta love processing magic. 🙂

Shawna & Cody, Thanks for the fun! 🙂
