Zmuda {Wedding}

Lennon and Ben  {January 8, 2011}

It was my first time to shoot at St Andrew’s Catholic Church… and I have to say what a treat it was! All that space and light! It was so wonderful for a winter wedding!

What can I say about this couple?  Relaxed… these two were completely relaxed and mellow on their day.  If there were jitters or nerves, I sure didn’t see any. Lennon took all things in stride, and just enjoyed.  Their  family just loved on them, and Ben and Lennon loved back.  Lennon seems so happy and contented that it was a pleasure to work with her.

I’d love to give a big shout out to my second shooter for the day: Kara Pennington. You are consistantly awesome! 🙂 Thanks for your help.

What do you get when you put a simply stunning bride in front of the Chugach Range?    One happy photographer, that is what! 🙂

 In the past, I have been accused of only shooting weddings for extra beautiful clients…. And I always tell them that it isn’t true: I work for pretty much anyone.  Lennon isn’t helping me out with my point though.   (She is one gooorgeous lady!)  And she got a huz to match!  Lucky me!  She sure made my job easy!

The guys’ boutonnières were soo neat with those pinecone accents!

Ceremony time… Love that shot Kara got of the flowergirls!

Love Kara’s composition on this one. Fabulous.

The ceremony was so meaningful and heartfelt.  I just loved the blessings Father Tom spoke over the couple. This first one is a favorite: What pretty light!The day before the wedding I got a call from Ben to let me know that he was planning a surprise for Lennon: He had rented a limo for the trip from the church to the Performing Arts Center!  Lennon had no clue and was sure surprised!  It was pretty cute to see how happy Ben was about it. He must like her or something. 😉

Lennon was so kind to all of her girls and got them matching Uggs!  If you follow my blog, you know that I love brave brides that are willing to go out in the cold… But brave and practical…?!!… even better.Gotta love a good running shot.  Especially impressive when you consider that Tux shoes NEVER have any traction on the bottoms. They are like running on sleds! (You’d think that the Tux shops in AK would get a clue… haha!)Love this shot of the guys:The Performing Arts Center has a hallway with signatures and posters from the shows that have visited… I have known about it for years, and so asked the sweet staff to let us use it for some fun pics of the couple. Love this one: And I got Lennon to go outside one more time… even though it was SUPER cold.  Love those frosty spruce trees.Meanwhile, at the reception,  the party was beginning to get kickin’ with Martin of Alaska Professional Entertainment.

On a fun note: all of these beautiful details… from the birch baskets… cake… home made Alaskan blueberry jam for favors… were made by the mother of the bride! So creative, original and well done! 🙂 Lennon and Ben did their first dance  with huge grins on their faces…you can tell they are going to have a LOT of fun together.

Can you tell? I just loved this wedding and this couple.  Leave them a comment and let them know how much you love them too! 🙂
