Just Married… 50 years ago

Ray and Carol have been together for a long time.

50 years to be exact.

I think the lyrics of the song they had for their fist dance said it best: “If you want to see…
How true love should be…. Then just look at us”

Their 50th anniversary was a celebration of that true love that has lasted and will last for the rest of their lives. They celebrated their family, friends, and all the things that make life sweet.

If you know Carol, you know she is the sweetest lady. She just recently turned 70, but is spunky as a teenager.
We loved that she had bloomers under her dress in wedding colors! What a fun lady!
Ray always pretends to be the big tough guy, but I can tell you that underneath he is nothing but molten love bug.
You can imagine their grandkids’ expressions when they saw the candy buffet!
50 years together, and they are still so fun!
Carol’s friend, Mike, raided his peony farm for some of the prettiest blossoms you ever saw!
So romantic!
50 years and a lot of memories.
Check out this awesome 57 Bel Air! Ray’s pride and joy!
The Albatross has such pretty light!
These three boys are Carols pride and joy!
Carol had her ORIGINAL guest book from 1969 for her50 year anniversary guests to sign! How cool is that. I loved the smell of her old things- makes them feel precious some how.

The guests began to arrive and the anticipation grew!
Ray’s expression as he watched his wife approach… again… made all the guests melt. That, there- Thats true love.
They both said a few words to each other.
And then their grandson lead them through their vows again.
And they agreed with a hearty: “I do, again.”
And Carol came down dancing. True to form!
If you know Carol, you know that this photo is HER. To the core!
The party was filled with so much love, hugs and laughter.
Appetizers were an Bruschetta, hummus and an antipasto salad. So yummy.
As a surprise, Carol arranged for a cigar and whisky bar. A few of his favorite things!
And so she wasn’t left out… there was a chocolate and wine bar! A few of her favorite things as well!
The first dance brought everyone to tears!

Look at us, After all these years together, Look at us
After all that we’ve been through, Look at us, Still leaning on each other

If you want to see, How true love should be, Then just look at us
Look at you Still pretty as a picture
Look at me Still crazy over you
Look at us Still believin’ in forever
If you want to see How true love should be Then just look at us
And then they played the shoe game. In all my years of working weddings I have NEVER seen a couple answer every question the same.
50 years of practice, makes perfect!
I love their sense of humor!
The sunset was showing off her colors, so we went for a little walk.
And then it was time for their getaway!
